A Bumper Weekend!

The agfx.tv team has spent the whole of this week deep in preparation mode ahead of what will be our busiest weekend of the year – and possibly of any year! With a range of jobs lined up across the country we will be the most geographically spread we have ever been, as we work with a range of production teams on a combination of televised broadcasts and major events including, for the first time, the Scottish BAFTA Awards.

Scottish BAFTAs

Saturday afternoon sees us providing stats, analysis and on-screen graphics for S4C’s Y Clwb Rygbi Rhyngwladol coverage of the Autumn Rugby International clash between Wales and Argentina in Cardiff. We’ll also be providing these for BBC Wales’ Scrum V highlights programme on Sunday.

Then, on Saturday evening, some of the team will be working on Anglesey on S4C’s live coverage of the Young Farmers’ Eisteddfod. At the same time, we’ll also be providing the on-screen stats and graphics for Channel 5 Boxing’s coverage of the bout between James Degale and Dyah Davis at Bluewater in Kent.

Meanwhile, Jamie Isaac will be rushing over from the Millennium Stadium to extend his extra-long working day, providing the stats and graphics for Saturday night’s Match of the Day Wales for BBC Wales, as they show highlights of the international football friendly between Wales and Finland at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Then on Sunday, following an afternoon of live football up in Rhyl with the Sgorio crew for Rhyl FC vs Connah’s Quay Town, we’ll be providing BAFTA Scotland with live web streaming of their prestigious annual Awards ceremony as it takes place in Glasgow. Having live-streamed BAFTA Cymru’s award ceremony earlier this year, we’re delighted to have been invited to provide their Scottish counterparts with the same service. Meanwhile, Andrew Lewis be on Anglesey helping the team from Rondo Media as they produce a hastily arranged special charity concert for the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.

It’s sure to be a challenging weekend, both logistically and in terms of the range of programming that we are working. However, we are very lucky here at agfx.tv that we have a highly-skilled team that can handle almost any task thrown at them!

This is why we’ve been able to push into new areas of work including live streaming and network television in recent months. Well done team – keep up the hard work!

You can have a day off on Monday!
